  7. This recipe was printed in a local newspaper and was originally
  8. published as part of a 20th anniversary fund raising cook book for an
  9. elementary school.  The cookbook is available (thru June 7) for $5.50 +
  10. $1.25 s&h: Shimek PTO, Attention: Patti Sunstrum, 1400 Grissel Place,
  11. Iowa City, IA 52240.

  13. Original Girl Scout Cookies

  15. 1 C butter
  16. 1 C sugar
  17. 2 eggs, well beaten
  18. 2 T milk
  19. 1 t vanilla
  20. 2 C flour
  21. 2 t baking powder
  22. 1/2 t salt

  24. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and flour, which has
  25. been sifted with baking powder and salt; mix well.  Chill about one
  26. hour. Drop batter by spoonful on ungreased baking sheets, and flatten
  27. with back of spoon or bottom of a floured drinking glass.  Bake at 425F
  28. for 8 to 10 minutes.  Sprinkle baked cookies with sugar immediately
  29. after removing from oven.
